From June 17 to 21, 2024, the first Face To Face Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Advanced Training Course was successfully held at Shanxi Bethune Hospital, with 8 participants from across the country.
This training course was led by Director Feng Haoyu of the Orthopedics Department at Shanxi Bethune Hospital, who meticulously arranged intensive theoretical lectures and surgical practice observations, providing participants with an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of minimally invasive spine technology. During the training, not only did senior experts share the latest research findings, but there were also live surgical observation sessions, closely integrating theory with practice, greatly enhancing the learning effect. In addition, the interactive teaching model promptly addressed participants' confusions and challenges encountered during surgery, promoting communication among peers and creating a good learning atmosphere, which contributed to the professional development of all participants.

A feast of knowledge, generously shared
In this training course, experts from the Orthopedics Department of Shanxi Bethune Hospital not only brought the most cutting-edge theoretical knowledge of minimally invasive spine surgery but also made complex medical principles easy to understand through vivid case analyses. Each speaker generously shared their knowledge, building a bridge to precision medicine for participants from all over the country.

Professor Chen Chen of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "Application and Research Progress of MIS-TLIF"

Professor Sun Lin of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "Comparative Analysis of Microscope-Assisted and Endoscope-Assisted Surgery for Cervical Spondylosis"

Professor Chang Jianjun of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "Lumbar Discectomy under Endoscopic Guidance"

Professor Zhang Yannan of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "Fusion Technique via the Transarticular Approach"

Professor Wang Rui of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "The Advancement of Single/Dual Channel Endoscopic Spine Surgery in Degenerative Diseases of the Entire Spine"

Professor Ma Zhuo of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "Analysis of Complications in Lumbar Fusion Surgery under Endoscopic Guidance"

Professor Guan Xiaoming of Shanxi Bethune Hospital shares "Establishment and Application of Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatment System for Elderly Patients"

Interactive communication, mutual progress
During the training course, the daily handover rounds became a "required course" for the participants. Under the leadership of Director Feng Haoyu, everyone actively participated in discussions, raising questions and insights regarding specific patient conditions. This "face-to-face" communication greatly promoted the collision and enhancement of clinical thinking.

Hands-on skills, immersed in knowledge

Unlike traditional teaching, Shanxi Bethune Hospital specially set up a "direct access to the operating room" session. Participants, while strictly adhering to sterile principles, were able to closely observe multiple high-difficulty minimally invasive spine surgeries. The superb skills of the lead surgeons and the team's seamless cooperation turned the operating room into a living textbook, with each surgical step holding significant educational value.

Returning with full loads, the future is promising

After several days of concentrated learning and practical experience, each participant gained a lot, not only deepening their understanding of minimally invasive spine technology but also resolving their own doubts in practice and improving their surgical skills. We believe that these participants, returning with full loads, will become a new force in promoting the development of spine surgery in our country!
The Orthopedics Department of Shanxi Bethune Hospital will continue to uphold the philosophy of "inheritance, innovation, excellence," dedicated to creating more high-quality learning platforms and contributing to the advancement of medical technology. Let us look forward to the next academic feast and work together to create a new chapter in the development of orthopedics!
