On November 1, 2024, the "Mirror Art Essence - Online Sharing Conference on Spinal Endoscopy Technology (Session 7)" hosted by the Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital and co-organized by the Spindos Academy was successfully held. The conference was chaired by Professor Jiang Yue from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital, with Professor Yu Bin serving as the executive chairman. Many experts and scholars from across the country gathered to exchange the latest research results and clinical experiences in spinal endoscopy technology, providing strong support for the further development and application of this technology.
"Mirror Art Essence" is a series of academic activities jointly created by Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital and Spindos Academy, focusing on the application of spinal endoscopy technology. With the continuous development of medical technology, spinal endoscopy technology, as a minimally invasive treatment method, has been widely applied in the field of spinal surgery. This technology has advantages such as minimal trauma, quick recovery, and fewer complications, which is of great significance for improving patients' quality of life and reducing medical costs.

Professor Yu Bin from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital hosted this meeting. Professor Yu welcomed the enthusiastic participation of online experts and colleagues, thanked Spindos Academy for providing a communication platform for this meeting, and expressed gratitude to all the experts and professors for taking the time to share their teachings. He welcomed online colleagues to ask questions and discuss. Director Yu warmly introduced the expert colleagues who were giving lectures, including Professor Yu Keyi from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor Feng Dapeng from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, and Professor Gao Junxiao from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Dalian University. The meeting also invited Professor Duan Jingzhu from Shengjing Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University, Professor Zhang Wei from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, and Professor Ren Hongfei from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital to share exciting case studies. Additionally, Professor Duan Jingzhu from Shengjing Hospital and Professor Yang Chunlu from Shenyang Yongsen Hospital were specially invited to host the meeting. Thanks to all the participating experts for their support. Finally, Professor Jiang Yue from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital was warmly invited to give the opening speech.

Professor Jiang Yue from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital delivered the opening speech for this meeting. Professor Jiang welcomed the experts and colleagues who were giving lectures online and learning together. The online sharing conference of Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital aims to share, disseminate, and discuss spinal endoscopy technology, and it is believed that this conference will achieve positive academic effects. He hopes to learn from many physician colleagues, exchange ideas, and make progress together to benefit more patients.
Special Lecture

Professor Yu Keyi from Peking Union Medical College Hospital shared "The Origin and Technical Differences of the Korean Dual-Channel Spinal Endoscopy UBE and BESS Schools."

Professor Feng Dapeng from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University shared "OLIF Combined with L5 Anterior Approach Vertebral Body Pedicle Screw Treatment for L4/5 Degenerative Spondylolisthesis."

Professor Gao Junxiao from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Dalian University shared "Case Sharing of Unilateral Dual-Channel Endoscopy (UBE) Technology for Treating Lumbar Disc Herniation Combined with Spinal Canal Stenosis."
Case Sharing

Professor Zhang Wei from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University shared "L4/5 Disc Removal via Intervertebral Foramen Approach under Spinal Endoscopy."

Professor Ren Hongfei from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital shared "Dual-Channel Technology Based on Uniaxial Spinal Endoscopy."
Surgical Live Broadcast

Professor Yu Bin from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital conducted a surgical live broadcast. The case was diagnosed as lumbar disc herniation with nerve root disease, with a free extrusion (L4/5). The procedure was a dual-channel (UBE) lumbar disc removal surgery based on spinal endoscopy (L4/5). During the surgery, Director Yu used the SPINENDOS 4.3-181 spinal endoscope to perform the dual-channel (UBE) surgery, completing the removal of the extruded nucleus in less than an hour. Director Yu stated that performing dual-channel (UBE) surgery based on spinal endoscopy not only has the advantage of using an external ring saw to quickly handle bony tissue but also utilizes the Donghong Zhiyuan hollow drill that perfectly fits the size of the spinal endoscope. The ring saw protective sleeve effectively protects soft tissue, allowing for safe and efficient handling of bony tissue under visualization. Additionally, the dual-channel surgery can use open surgical instruments, making instrument use more flexible. The surgical access and observation channels can be switched as needed. During the surgery, Director Yu used the Donghong 2.0mm bone biting forceps to handle bony tissue, making the surgical operation flexible and efficient, effectively shortening the surgical time.

Conference Summary
Professor Jiang Yue from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital summarized the conference, thanking Spindos Academy for providing the communication platform and the experts and professors from within and outside the province for sharing their latest research results and standardizing spinal endoscopy operations. This was the seventh session of the activity, and he looks forward to meeting everyone again in the eighth session.
The successful holding of this conference helps to strengthen academic exchanges among experts in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery and promotes the vigorous development of minimally invasive spinal surgery. The original intention of the Mirror Art Essence series of activities is to provide a platform for communication and interaction, facilitating experts to gather together to discuss the development of the orthopedic industry, explore the relationship between heaven and man, understand the changes of ancient and modern times, gather the strengths of various schools, and share common aspirations in academic discussions, mutual development, and creating a better future.
